Guide :Freezers : Freezer Jenn Air Clear Cube Ice Maker

Ice maker is not getting water.

The icemaker stopped making ice but continued to go through the cycle. Not realizing that is was probably frozen at the water intake area we replaced the solenoid and the icemaker itself. We then realized that we should have defrosted the intake line --- which we did. It still is not getting any water -- although we can see water in the tube going up to the icemaker. It is no longer cycling like it is trying to make ice

No water flowing to ice maker - Jenn-Air Freezer Jenn Air Clear Cube Ice Maker

To see if icemaker is still good pour a 1/2 cup of water into tray and wait for a day. make sure shutoff arm or switch is on or down (arm down) if it makes ice then the icemaker is ok. if it dont then hold up. if it makes ice then either the water pressure is too low (or no water) or the water valve is bad. (to check water valve you need a volt meter). ok back to hold up part... the icemaker actuallys controls the water valve so you can have no water but that doesnt mean the icemaker is bad. so here are the three possiblities to your problem: ice maker water vavle not enough/no water before you buy anything let me know and we can go over this again hope this was helpful (or confusing sorry)

My jenn air freezer is not making cubes. the

The water inlet valve may be staying open. You can swap the wires on the dual water inlet valve and disconnect the water line at the valve which goes to the ice maker. When you try the water dispenser the water will come out there. When you stop the water dispenser, if the water at the valve doesn't stop, the valve isn't closing so you'll need to replace it. If it does stop after trying it several times then the problem is with the ice maker. The water inlet valve on the back of unit opens when the ice maker needs water. If the valve doesn't seal good because of sediment or wear it will continue to drip and when the water reaches the ice maker supply tube it will freeze. You can take the water line off the valve and watch to see if it drips.

The ice maker stopped making ice.

, The first step you need to do is to turn the water off to the refrigerator so it quits making until you get it fixed. If your fridge has the control boards in each side of the freezer cabinet that controls the icemaker, then you have a failed board. If you have a standard icemaker with the metal shutoff arm then you have a failed motor module in the icemaker. You can remove the icemaker and unplug the wiring connector from it so you can leave the water on to the dispenser. Thank you for contacting Fixya.com

Icemaker My refrig whirlpool was making hollow ice. I replaced the water filter and sometimes it will make ice which is hardly ever, water does not now get to icemaker. Water does get to water for drinking in the refrig. Model #et1fhtxmt02

You might have a frozen line. Also and this seems more important to you its prob to cold, Trust me to cold of a refrig will cause hollow ice cubes first leading to a frozen line. Clean your coils, if you have another refrig empty out into that, unplug it leave doors open a couple days. If you can get to water line use a hair dryer from a distance defrost line, turn down freezer half knotch 1 full one at maximum. should fix issues, especially if filter already changed. If this all check prob a clogged line, not just frozen.

Whirlpool ice maker

Hi Chubbo,    When you say you checked the Valve, did you check the Supply valve that feeds water to the fridge, or the Solenouid valve that usually casues this problem.  Unplug your Fridge and roll it away from the wall.  Remove the  rear access panel  and trace the water supply tubing to the solenoid valve. Lots of time the valve is bad.  You  can get a replacement  Solenoid.  at any Appliance part store, or online at www.repairclinic.com.    If you did check that. You can get a coupling that will adapt from the water supply directly to the line coming from the solenouid to pressure up and see if you actually have a flow problem between the solenoid valve and ice tray.   Hope this is helpful to you. Good Day

My jennair freezer drawer started making too much ice all over the place (not just the cube drawer). everything is getting covered in thin sheet of ice. did I mistakenly touch some setting? I set the temperature to the highest it allow (6 F).? I put the lever (that designates whether to make cubes or not) up (i.e., don't make ice cubes), but I don't see any other buttons/panel/signals I can send it. thanks!

Sounds like the water valve needs replaced
