Sub Zero insulation freezing

My sub zero freezers insulation is getting wet and then freezing probalby due to age and natural breakdown of the material. Is there some way to dry it out and then drill holes in the back and refill it with new foam insulation as a stop gap measure?

Sub Zero insulation freezing

These units are pretty much manufactured, then the insulation is inserted as a liquid that forms into a solid insulation. Consider the age of the unit for a replacement IMHO.

I have a cold plate freezer Chinese manufactured by the Inrise Group (model SD-220-Y) mounted on a heavy gauge steel push-cart which I use to sell ice cream. This freezer recently began to malfunction virtually simultaneously in three ways: While plugged in, the compressor ALWAYS runs; The interior temperature after 24 hours of operation now reaches 20 degrees F compared to a sub-negative 20 degrees in the past (my thermometer bottoms out at -20); and lastly, it retains a sub-30 temperature for less than 200 minutes compared to a nine- to 11-hour freeze hold before (depending on ambient temperatures). I have not been able to find any freezer repair service in my area with experience in cold-plate freezers, and my emails to/from the manufacturer have been crippled by language difficulties. Any suggestions? Any tips on obtaining service manuals &/or schematics? Also, I added Dow-brand insulated sheathing cut to fit inside the freezer box (R-6) to no appreciable benefit. Thanks.

Sub zero freezer - 501 f

It is likely the condenser fan is not functioning. You may need to open the compressor access panel to check. If you can hear the compressor running, and the condenser feels warm, the fan should be running. If it isn't, it probably needs to be replaced. Another symptom is the area around the doors feels warm.

Sub zero refrigerator model 532 problem the freeze is warm on the top but the ice & items below the ice are OK. i suspect that the light may be always on. also the freezer door does not make its sealing sound when closed.

I suspect a bad fan motor, door switch, or not defrosting. The suction when door closes is caused by the low temperature created when working properly.

Water on floor - Sub-Zero 700 Refrigerator Freezer Drawer-700 Sub-Zero

The hose that goes into the drip pan to defrost the refer is plugged with stuff. take the back off and see the hose connection.A coat hanger works well.Usually a 1/4" hose. Also see where the bottom of the freezer drains into the drip pan. That may be plugged, also. The temp may be set too low and the condenser is frozen up,leaking water into the floor.Just ice stuck to the condenser. Possible that the condenser FAN stopped turning. That will ice up and melt at random: see/hear that the fan is working. If stuff gets into the fan,it will ice up,melt and make a mess on the floor.

Sub Zero Freezer (501r) has frost build up at top of door frame

Has your problem been diagnosed by a certified sub zero tech of did you diy the seal thinking that might be the problem? If so, you might want to get a pro to diagnose and save yourself the time and maybe a few bucks but at least, hopefully, get it fixed the first time. I am not a tech but it does sound like a failed defrosting element or part of the circuit that powers it. who knows, you might just have a lose wir :) One of those time a pro may be the best choice. Best of luck.
