Leaking Water Hi, I have a Zanussi Fridge / Freezer ZX57/3, and recently it has been leaking water at the front of the appliance. I have also noticed a slight build up of ice under the trays within the freezer, on the base of the machine. Do you have any ideas as to what could be causing this and how I can get this fixed??

Maytag Freezer my upright freezer door of my Maytag/MagicChef 11.8 cu ft CFU1236GRW freezer is leaking at the bottom. There are two pressure floating buttons at the base of the door in the middle, if I press on them, water runs out. We have defrosted the freezer again but the water continues to come out of the base of the door. The freezer seems to run fine. Since it is not frost free, it does need to be defrosted a few times a year. How do we get this leaking to stop. We have to keep pans at the base of the door to keep the rug from getting wet. Thanks

Sounds like you need a new door gasket

I have a sears upright frost-free freezer, manufactured in July 2003, model # 253.23024101 which I purchased new. For the last couple of years, about every three months it accumulates about a 1/4 inch of ice on the inside floor of the freezer, and over the drain line to the evaporator tray underneath, and water then leaks onto the floor. On April 15, 2009 I replaced the defrost thermostat and the defrost heating element and the problem still persists. I also checked the drain line to the evaporator tray underneath the freezer. When it leaks onto the floor, I have been chipping the ice away and using a hair dryer to remove the ice that develops in the drain line and then pour a cup of water down the unfrozen drain line and the freezer is fine again for a couple of months. Any ideas?

Make sure that the fridge is level. If the drain pitch is not sufficient, this will happen. The solution is cheap too!

Water leak Hi there I have a samsung RS20CCMS side by side fridge freezer and there is a build up of ice at the bottom of the frost free freezer part plus it is leaking water from underneath the freezer part ... do you have any idea what could be the problem ?

Probably the defrost drain blocked. remove back panel from inside freezer and melt ice off with hairdryer and follow up with hot water till water flows away freely. you may find all the pipework iced up and if so you have a problem with defrost system. an alternative way is to switch off for 24 hours and leave doors open

Frigidaire upright freezer ice forming in bottom and leaking not freezing ice cream

This does not sound good because the breakers tripping may indicate a compressor windings short. Have someone do the test below, Unplug the refrigerator and remove the back panel that covers the compressor. There should be 3 wires going inside the cover of the compressor. Mark all 3 and mark their location so if compressor is OK you can put them back in same order. The plastic cover may snap on and you may need to squeeze the sides to unlock the cover and sometimes there is a metal clip holding the cover in place. Remove the cover. May look hard but it's simple. There will be three connections under the cover and 2 will go through the start relay. Unplug them leaving the three prongs exposed. They may be marked R =Run, S=Start and C=Common. Set your meter on continuity and then begin by testing 2 at a time until you have checked S to R and R to C an C to S and S to R again. You should get a reading all the way around. If no reading between any of the pairs as you go around you should get no reading between any two the compressor has an open winding and is defective. Then if it passes that test then touch one probe to R and the other to the copper pipes or clean metal on outside of compressor, then S to metal outside and C to metal outside. If you get a reading this way even just a little. The compressor is a burnout. Then let me know what you find. Thanks, Sea Breeze

Help! my manitowoc! leaking!

I'm having a little trouble finding that model but if you contact them or can find a better or different number it may help. You can also contact them and order parts or order from one of their suppliers. Here is their link to home page. With the correct model number you can find your service manual and part number. Hope this helps. Manitowoc is pretty good about helping out. Sea Breeze http://www.manitowocice.com/index.asp

Freezer not freezing, and leaking

If this unit has an ice maker and you noticed water leaking into the refigerator, I had a similar problem. The water turn off valve for the ice maker had a small piece of sand or grit lodged in it and stopped the valve from closing properly. So it could not turn of completely and the valve became increasingly more sloppy as the piece of sand was wedged in further. The solution was to replace the samll valve. An easy job for someone a bit handy. If the water has frozen in the bottom of the freezer compartment the colliing port for the cold air may also be affected. Don't chip the ice out of the bottom, defrost it with pans of hot water.Hope this helps
