Defroster leaks my refrigerator leaks water from the inside of the unit. i had an technician check the problem. he said it was the defroster that was leaking the water. what should i do? soon i'll have to replace my flooring because of the water. please help with this problem. I am having this same problem with my refrigerator.  We have a Kenmore which was purchased from Sears probably 5-6 years ago when we bought our house.   It is a "refrigerator -freezer with autommatic defrost and top mounted freezer"  There is an icemaker but we do not use (it is not hooked to a water line because it won't reach one in our kitchen.) It's a Kenmore.  The paperwork says it is model #7113 the full model number given inside the fridge says it's model 253.71134103 Anyhow - every week I have to empy the fridge and mop up much water from under my vegetable bins and the top of many of the shelves.  It seems the lower shelves are worse - and the freezer doesn't seem to need defrosting.   There is sometimes a thin layer of ice on one of the shelves. Any help on how to fix this would be much appreciated.

You have a cloged evap. drain. the rf is defrosting properly but with the drain be clogged the water has to go somewhere which is generally in the crisper draws on top and bottom models. two way to clear up this issue. turn rf OFF for at least 48 to 72 hrs. to allow the drain to de-ice or take matters into your own hands and take the back panel off of the freezer and using boiling hot water pour it down the evap. drain tube until it flows like you just flushed a tiolet

Problem with Whirlpool side by side refrigerator (Model ED25RFXFW01). Approximately 6 weeks ago, I found the refrigerator had quit cooling and ice in the ice maker was melting. The top half of the freezer was warm, but the bottom half seemed to still be freezing. Unplugged the unit for about 30 minutes and then plugged it back in. The unit began cooling and performed ok for about 2 weeks when the same thing happened again. Unplugged the unit and called the repairman. At the suggestion of the repairman, I plugged the unit back in and it was working normally when he arrived. He couldn't find anything wrong, but changed out the defrost timer and relay overload as a precaution. Unit worked fine for about another two weeks and now it's doing exactly the same thing. I'm waiting on the repairman now. Any suggestions?

Sounds like a defrost problem ...maybe the heater or defrost thermostat is bad...he should bypass the timer and jump the heater to see if its woking...if not then i would remove the heating element for further testing. if the heater checked would only leave the defrost timer to blame.good luck

Sub zero refrigerator model 532 problem the freeze is warm on the top but the ice & items below the ice are OK. i suspect that the light may be always on. also the freezer door does not make its sealing sound when closed.

I suspect a bad fan motor, door switch, or not defrosting. The suction when door closes is caused by the low temperature created when working properly.

We have a Master-Bilt DC8 Ice Cream Storage freezer. It starts gradually warming about three weeks after we defrost it. Defrosting fixes it for a short time. We've had a repairman who replaced a part and added refrigerant but the problem still persists. Any suggestions?

Hi, It sounds to as though you may have a small refrigerant leak in the system. I wish I knew the part he replaced, it must have been in the refrigerant circuit to have to add freon, or it was low in the beginning. They are sealed systems and only require freon if they develop a leak. I think what I would recommend at this point is for them to check the charge again. If it is low, by E.P.A. law's, they need to add dye to locate and repair leaks the second time around, if it is low only. Maybe you can let me know what part was replaced, that would be somewhat helpful. Sincerely,Shastalaker7PS How are you defrosting this box? Most low temperature boxes have a defrost clock on them. Yours may not.
