Potential relay mounting diretion

These relays are calibrated in a specific direction to open the contacts. When you hang it upside down or sideways you are changing the calibration. This may not allow the relay to function as required and keep the start capacitor and start winding in the motor engaged longer than necessary. Long term this could cause no starts and failed relays and start capacitors and in the worse case a failed motor.

Can I Mount Casters with Screws into Bottom of Chest Freezer?

Youyr best bet would be to build a frame that the casters are welded to and there are no holes in the outer shell of the freezer. some L shaped angle would work nicely for this application and then there would be plenty of support for when the freezer is loaded up with product. Be sure that teo of the casters are lockable and two in the swivel freely.

Is there anyway to test start relay for a freezer

Hello - When was the last time you cleaned the condensers? You may do so by removing the toe grille and use extended vacuum attachment and condenser cleaning brush to remove dust buildup from condenser coils usually located on the left side underneath. If you hear the compressor running and if it is providing warm air then that means it is operating correctly and the sealed system is removing heat from the cabinet. Fan motor/evaporator may be the primary issue. However, if you do not hear the compressor and the unit is blowing room temperature then the unit may possibly have a sealed system leak, faulty compressor or overload relay. Contact a professional to move forward accurately from this point.

Top mounted freezer on refrigerator not working

Move the refrigerator to a room that is at least 50 degrees F. Temps on most refrigerators are regulated by the fresh foods temp. If your garage is let's say 35 degrees, the fresh foods temp will most likely never raise enough to turn the refrigerator on. With the refrigerator never running, the freezer compartment will warm to 35 degrees, resulting in everything melting. Even if garage is a bit warmer, say 45, the refrig will not run long enough for the freezer to maintain a low enough temperture. If the garage temp falls to below freezing, say 20 degrees, the food in the fresh foods compartment will freeze. (outdoor beverage dispensers have internal heaters to prevent product from freezing !) Please don't rate this if not a Fix-Ya for you, as anything else lowers my score.

Whirlpool AFG 7080 Freezer - Relay noises

I had the same problem last year and changed the miniature relay - £3.50 from Maplin. That cleared the problem for 18 months until a couple of weeks ago when the clicking started again. So I changed the relay once more but this time it hasn't cleared the problem. So looking at £146 for new control board from Whirlpool.

My service man replaced the defrost cycle timer and the relay (timer was definitely broken, relay was highly suspect) but the freezer fan still has no power so freezer will not chill adequately despite very cold coils. We need a wiring diagram to follow to finish ths job off. I have a Traulsen URS48DT unit.

Most all commercial freezers have a fan delay/ defrost terminator. It is usually mounted on the end of the evap coil. It's purpose is to sense the temp of the coil during the defrost cycle. When it hits a preset temp., usually around 55 degrees or more (depends on Mfg.) It terminates the defrost cycle. It also doubles as a fan delay. It allows the evap coil to cool off from the defrost cycle before allowing the fan to come on. Usually, the coil has to get around 20 degrees before fan will energize. I would look for this as a possible problem. It could be one device with 3 wires or 2 separate devices with 2 wires each. I've seen it both ways. Hope this helps.

My Sub-Zero 601F Freezer displayed -20 and no matter what I did, it would go back to -20. It turned out that the relay board needed to be replaced because the motor kept on running and never shut off. After replacing the relay board, it took some time for the numbers to reset to 00. Now the freezer is working, the temperature displays 00, but the word "SERVICE" flashes and the message "EE" is displayed. What do I do now? Do I call the service company again? I tried shutting it off and on, also turned off the breaker for 30 seconds... nothing!

Repairs should be performed by a qualified service technician. possible open thermistor in the refrigerator/freezer. the freezer/ thermistor connection may be corroded. check if the evaporator fan motor is running. yes the service technician should check the operation of the refrigerator/freezer.
