Sheet of ice forms in bottom of freezer

Frost free fidges are supposed to stay frost free because the automatically defrost regularly. When they do this they may drain water down to the bottom of your fridge. Look for a tray that catches this water underneath the unit. Make sure yo keep it emptied. If you live in a very warm climate you may be getting a lot of humidity inside. There may be a switch that you can change for lower moisture.

Water pooling and freezing on bottom of freezer. Cools poorly.

Check door gaskets if sealing properly? Check to verify freezer is level? If all of the above are fine then look at your drain for the condenasation. It's located at the bottom of your back wall underneath the aluminum evaporator that the cold air comes from. (You will need to remove the back panel inside of freezer wall To get to the drain. It's probably plugged and frozen over. Do not use a chisel or knif instead take a cup of hot water and pour it Oder the drain area and let it sit. (Your freezer will not be running for an hour or so so think ahead or work fast). That being said you have to unplug unit first :-) once you remove all ice push a straw or something through drain to verify its draining through. You can also flush more water down it to watch it drain showing you that it's working. Start with this first.

Frosting & water dripping from freezer in Frost free freezer

Hi, You will find that your problem relates to the defrost heater in the freezer. You will need to take the drawers out and remove the back panel to access the evaporator. There is a foil heater that lays underneath the evaporator and it will need to be changed. Along with the klixon that controls it. This will ensure that both parts are good. Your problem will then be fixed no more water! Good luck................

Why is ice forming under the bottom drawer of my Samsung American fridge freezer Rsa1shpn and then water eventually leaking out the door? I have defrosted the fridge freezer but still have the problem

There is a drain tube located under the panel of most freezers. If that clogs up, the auto defrost can't work. The freezer defrosts by evaporating all the moisture out of the compartment. So, check that first. Secondly, a leaky door seal can also cause that problem. You can order door seals online or on Amazon.

Upright Freezer not freezing,

Looks like low on freon. that causes freeze up. oddly enough they freeze up when charge is low , just the opposite of what you think they would do. you have a freon leak unfortunately. probably not accessible, and therefore not repairable. i would suggest, cut your losses and buy new. unfortunately for me and all other srevice techs, the days of affordable repair are over, you can now replace cheaper than i can fix and have a warranty and its new... good luck

Frigidaire upright freezer ice forming in bottom and leaking not freezing ice cream

This does not sound good because the breakers tripping may indicate a compressor windings short. Have someone do the test below, Unplug the refrigerator and remove the back panel that covers the compressor. There should be 3 wires going inside the cover of the compressor. Mark all 3 and mark their location so if compressor is OK you can put them back in same order. The plastic cover may snap on and you may need to squeeze the sides to unlock the cover and sometimes there is a metal clip holding the cover in place. Remove the cover. May look hard but it's simple. There will be three connections under the cover and 2 will go through the start relay. Unplug them leaving the three prongs exposed. They may be marked R =Run, S=Start and C=Common. Set your meter on continuity and then begin by testing 2 at a time until you have checked S to R and R to C an C to S and S to R again. You should get a reading all the way around. If no reading between any of the pairs as you go around you should get no reading between any two the compressor has an open winding and is defective. Then if it passes that test then touch one probe to R and the other to the copper pipes or clean metal on outside of compressor, then S to metal outside and C to metal outside. If you get a reading this way even just a little. The compressor is a burnout. Then let me know what you find. Thanks, Sea Breeze
