Oil and water on floor near upright freezer

Possible you have a sealed system problem, although you state it is working now. Maybe an overflow from drain pan is why there is water again.

Kenmore freezer is not cooling

Listen for some type of noise from the back lower part of the freezer. This could indicate a problem with the compressor. It is not a fast fix problem. Get your frozen foods to a cold temperature. If the compressor is running and you are not getting the cooling your system could have lost its refrigerant charge. If the compressor is cool and not running check the temperature control. It may have failed. Unplug the power to the freezer and remove the temperature control. Jumper the two main wires that attach to the temperature control and insulate them with electrical tape. Plug the freezer back in and the compressor should start and cool. If this makes it run replace the thermostat.

I have a 22 CUFT upright reach-in that ices up constantly. The ice builds up in the back of the freezer near the drain and then extends out to all the food toward the back area. I've tried increasing the size of the drain hole with no luck. I know of two other identical freezers with same problem. DOM is 2005. Arctic Air suggests I pay for service. Service people will only give a 30 day guaranty and it usually takes about that long for the problem to manifest itself. Freezer works fine otherwise and keeps appropriate temps all the time but it is a pain having to break food off the ice chunks.

This can be multiple issues. look for the freezer being level. look for any missing screws where water can leak out during defrost. make sure the door closes and seals. be sure you have the right amount of defrost cycles at the correct length. check to see if defrost heaters work. you may need to add a heater to the drain if there isn't one. worst case: remove product overnight and store in another freezer, unplug unit and leave door open to defrost, then plug in first thing in the morning.
