Our power is now back on, but our kenmore deep freeze isnt on. the serial number is 25322402100 and i think maybe model number is R134A. I think this has happned once before, and it almost seems like there was a reset button or something to reset, but we cannot find it anywhere. PLEASE HELP, AS MY FREEZER IS FULL OF FOOD. I know it wont last much longer. Thanks in advance for any help anyone can give me. Leslie

Simple stuff, you have a compressor a stat and power. check the receptacle to be sure you have 120 volts . then check the compressor with stat at max cold setting to see if you have 120 volts at compressor. if you do then compresssor is bad =new compressor or new unit. if no power to compressor then stat is bad= new stat. i always recomend new unit cause new stat or compressor wont fix a freon leak.... i have replaced a few compressors that died soon after due to a freon leak. good luck...

My kenmore upright freezer quit working after power outage

Is there any lights on in the freezer? try plugging the freezer into an outlet you know is working. there is no "reset" on the freezer so if lights are on and it still isnt working it could possibly be stuck in defrost or the thermostat could be stuck in the off position. for the defrost problem: pull freezer from wall and look in the compressor area and you will see a control under the unit left of the compressor. using a flat blade screwdriver advance the timer clockwise a few clicks and it will probably come back on. if that doesnt work lets check the thermostat. thermostat stuck: this is easy but you need to check def timer first. using the handle of you screw driver tap the thermostat knob firmly. if the contacts are stuck open when you hit it the contacts will release and the unit will come back on. hope this helps..

Kenmore Freezer 20.3 cu.ft. won't kick on

Poor mom..:) You need a technician for that problem. But much better if you buy new one because your unit is already 14 yrs old the labor and parts are expensive. For this problem I think the compressor is already burned or stuck up.

My Kenmore Upright Freezer Model 25326432100 flashed "ER."

My freezer was purchased in February, 2004. It is a self defrosting freezer but ice has started forming along the bottom shelf and back wall. Also, after cleaning the freezer the other day it has stopped clycing. The freezer will stop running only if I turn it down to the #1 setting and then it will not come back on. If I turn it up to a higher setting the compressor will not stop running. It ran for over 24 hours and would not cycle unless I turned it off or set it at the #1 setting. When I unplugged it and pulled it away from the wall, there was a green water spot the size of a dinner plate underneath the freezer. Help!! Very Unhappy this freezer is only 6 years old. S in Phila.

Freezer fan on compressor off

They make generic "compressor packs" to solve these. Your capacitors and relay and parts that support the compressor operation went out.If you're really really like just the temp overload switch went and you can jumper bypass it. It usually looks like a piezo electric type of disc connected right onto the comp case itself. But you're right with the DT, the motors go out on them a lot. They are usually for 4/6/10/12 hours depending on make and model. Sometimes the contacts go So if you could isolate them... they're on the larger side and will go from the power to the compressor. Use a jumper and test for a complete circuit to the plug and through the compressor before trying it.By law all freezers and ovens have to have a schematic diagram on them. Often it it in a little plastic package and sometimes just wallpapered to the inside of a large piece of sheetmetal in back.Good that you know how to use a meter!

Kenmore Upright Freezer compressor running 6 seconds every minute

Usually the compressor runs pretty warm anyway. However if you think it's too hot I would start with the condenser coils located either under the unit or on occasion they are located on the back. The air flow across these coils as well as the airflow around the compressor must be maintained. I forgot to ask if the condenser fan is running. Check and make sure that the Fan is running and the air flow is good. Also, When you transported the unit did you move it standing vertically like it normally stands or did you lay it on its side. If you transported the unit on its side you must wait a minimum of 24 to 48 hours prior to start up or the unit could be ruined permanently. The refrigerant has to be utilized through the compressor as a gas. If the unit is on its side liquid refrigerant could be introduced into the compressor and can cause permanent damage. If this is the case I recommend that you turn the unit off at once and wait the 36 hours for the Refrigerant to settle then try it again. This transportation rule applies for any appliance That uses refrigerant, Air Conditioners etc. These units are not that hard to diagnose. The only other item that is usually a problem is the defrost timer. It is not very expensive and can also cause some of the same symptoms that you are eluding to. The defrost timer allows the freezer to periodically shut down to prevent the buildup of frost or ice on he evaporator coils and on the inside the unit. If it is defective, then the unit will either run all the time and cause the evaporator coils to freeze up or will not allow the compressor to switch on and it will not freeze like it should.

Frigidaire upright freezer: freezer stopped working (no power).

Hi Kevin - it sounds like your freezer may possibly be stuck in diagnostic mode. Press and hold the Up (+) and Down (-) keys simultaneously for 3 seconds or more. The buzzer will beep at the end of the 3 seconds. Hopefully that will resolve the issue. If you continue experiencing this problem, please provide a model number to your freezer and any additional symptoms it may have experienced prior to shut off. - Best of luck!
