Freezer stored on its side

There is always a solution, some are just more expensive than others. First you need to figure out if the problem has to do with the refrigerant system or something else. You want to verify the compressor is running. You can tell this by listening to it or placing your hand on it. Make sure the fan inside the freezer is running. It is common for the fan motor to stick when not in use due to moisture in the cabinet. You can usually get it started with your finger and it will be ok after it runs a while. If the fan and compressor are running but it won't get cold, you probably have oil in the lines from it being on it's side. Turn the freezer off and let it sit for a minimum of 48 hrs. If it won't cool after that, you will have to have a refrigeration tech out to check the system. You can probably buy a new freezer as cheap as having the system repaired. Post back and let me know what you find out.

Frigidaire frost free upright freezer door corner dripping

Hello Yellow, thank you for your post! I understand that your Frigidaire freezer is dripping water out of the corner of the door. It is possible that with your power going out the heat may have caused the gasket to warp. Do you see any frost build-up? The water that is dripping could be coming from condensation within the freezer. I would recommend checking the gasket to see if it is allowing warm air to enter the freezer. I recommend that you visually inspect the door gasket for defects such as gaps or tears. You can also use a dollar bill to test the door gasket. Place a dollar bill in between the door and the body of the freezer. If the dollar bill pulls out with no to little resistance, you may need to replace the door gasket. A faulty door gasket can allow warm air to enter the compartment and cause frost to condensation or a leak. I hope this information is helpful. -Matt

Admiral upright freezer dripping water inside on top

Hello. I can help. Once we notice anything different from before we start becoming more aware of small variations. Regarding things on the top shelf warmer than on the bottom, this is always true because, "warm air rises and cold air falls". If you want the top shelf colder turn the thermostat to the next colder setting, always a good idea in the Summer season anyway. Even though your gasket looks good, a ten year old gasket is not as pliable as a new one resulting in the moisture problem you describe. I would begin by applying a thin coating of vaseline to the gasket once a week for a month. This little trick of the trade will often work. If it doesn't improve the situation do replace the gasket.

Small patch of ice if frost free freezer

Frost free does not mean no frost ever anywhere. It just means that there is a mechanism to defrost the evaporator on a regular basis. If there is a spot where frost is forming in the box it may just mean that a little bit of moisture that is not collected on the coil may be finding another cold spot to stick. The area where the fan blows into the cabinet is bound to be the coldest spot in the freezer therefore an ideal place to collect frost. Check the level of the unit and your door gasket to be sure the door is closing tight and true.

Proper temp. range in freezer

Hi dgh1, The freezer should stay within 5 degrees of 0 while in operation. While in defrost the freezer may reach as high as 20 to 25 degrees. If any higher temperatures are reached your food will spoil as they are defrosted and refroze everyday. If you find that the temperature is allowing your food to defrost you may want to replace your defrost thermostat. This device is located on top of the evaperator coil inside the back of the freezer. It is made to turn the heater off when a temperature of 55 degrees is reached. One other possible problem could be your defrost timer is taking to long to restart the cooling cycle after defrosting. I hope this will help you and please send any other questions you may have, I am happy to help. and dont forget to rate me. Mike Anderson Anderson Appliance (865)945-3808
